My Headers Install

Got my Edelbrock Shorty Headers installed this weekend. Wasn't to bad, about 3hrs start to finish. Toughest part was the by-pass line from the header to the intake. The limited room by the firewall was a PITA!

And to answer the question...I went with Shorties to eliminate the need to redo the rest of the exhaust. A cost and time issue I didn't really want to deal with. I went with Edelbrock because of the name and a recommendation from a friend based on price, constructions etc.

Performance:
I immediately noticed that she idles smoother. Low end is slightly better (up to about 2k rpm), but the remaining powerband is unchanged. Soound is nearly the same too.

I'm happy with the current Exhaust setup right now so I am next going to get a BBTune and be done with my engine work.

looks good man. a PITA for shorties?? gimme a break haha i put my longtubes from the engine bay down through the sides of the motor. Did you put locktite on the bolts? make sure you check them verrryy! frequently. id do it every 500 miles for a couple months or even sooner. they tend to back out alot
