What happened to the pavement 3 years ago?

it was tore down to gravel as a repaving project. i will post a copy of the original letter later.

Looks like you might be able to do a light pull on it.

yah i intend to get after it and pull the inner bumper back close to where it should be and call it good. the foam and such are there and in good shape, the cover is a little rough but i think i am gonna scuff it down and rattle can it close enough and call it good. i will have to get a little creative on mounting it back up as the tabs that hold it are all broke off one side but i have a couple little things in mind to try that should be good enough.

i dont think it will be hard to make it look good enough for a cheap driver. i mean i have the hoopty and the tahoe has a caved quarter so being perfect is not as much a priority as being mechanically good.

Helluva paving project to take 3 years. I mean I see those guys leaning on shovels a lot and talking but that’s ridiculous.:lol2:

You used to do paving for a living?
I used to work for the DOT department. That's how I got my cdl. DOT used to do everything--pothole repair, milling and paving, litter, guard rail replacement and repair, plowing and salting in the winter--I did ALL of it. Of course paving was done during my favorite time of year--in the summer! You know how much I love the heat!
My crew didn't do signs or mowing, that was a different crew. Now they contract out almost everything. Bunch of primary donnas if you ask me lol.

yah part of it was that they bid contracts and was some local guys that got it and they are a small group.

part of it is the county, another the township, then the dorks doing the work.

in fairness they initially had some birds or bats or something they couldnt do work from xx date in spring till xx date in the fall ( for clearing the trees) but that should have been one summer. the rest dont make sense and just pisses me off.

got it back together, and aside from the paint, looking pretty decent. put a couple hundred miles on it so far and gotta say not a bad little car.

Well the Saturn is looking great so far. Mixed driving highway, light city and country driving ( 80 ish on the highway, and she wasn't driving easy. I drove much easier the. Last 80 miles or so) and so far the average is 28-29. And it still isn't 100%. It has a little surge at idle, and can feel the power isn't always delivering correctly, and has a lean code. So it should do even better longer term! And is already easily twice what most of the trucks are getting!
