Talked to the guy rebuilding my transmission yesterday. He said the bands were very worn, sun shell was broken and the oil pump was shot. He said he's using upgraded heavy duty parts and he's throwing a shift kit and Corvette servo in as well. Hopefully I'll have her back next week.

Sounds like hes doing all the right stuff.

torque converter?

This^

I would see about getting an OEM torque converter from a 4.2L Trailblazer. I picked mine up for $80 and its a night and day difference.

When I put on my 22" TBSS replicas on, it was a total dog. Would not get out of its own way! The converter brought it back.

Clean looking ride. Can't wait to see more. And what the future holds.

He did replace the torque converter, however I'm assuming it's a factory one as he did not specify otherwise.

It took me a month to get the Tahoe back but it is shifting great. $1300 out the door including labor. It's shifting great.

Other than that the only thing I've done is LED interior lights. Once the weather warms up a little bit more I'm cleaning out the garage so I can start on some bigger projects.

Installed DEPO projectors last night. It made a huge difference. I should have done it a lot sooner.

Got my new wheels in. Now I have to decide on which tires to run.

An offroad look tire would look good, but look for one with low noise, if not I highly recommend Michelin tires they are awesome in all weather and last forever.

I've kinda decided between these three. I wanted to stick with a 32" but the Zeon and Terra Grappler are only available in the 32.6+. I only plan on running my leveling kit at 2-2.5" and I'm not sure how well it would clear a 285. The wheels are 17x9, 0 offset, 5" backspacing. I tow around 4-5k lbs a couple times a year so they need to stand up to that as well.

Cooper Zeon LTZ in 285 70 17 - 32.8" x 11.2" - 10 ply

Mickey Thompson Baja STZ in 275 70 17 - 32.2" x 11" - Load Range E

I've heard positive things about the Cooper Zeons, which includes things about low noise.
