wow interesting thread..

but seriously, i would get the same tires, when i got my tahoe, it had different tires that i was unaware of. Changed them out since one was no good anyway, but it drove alot better and didnt have any other issues i had been having before w/ the mismatched ones.

Hope you get it figured out.

Front Driver: 295/40R
Front Passenger: 285/40R
Rear Driver: 295/40R
Rear Passenger: 305/35R

Well i have 2 tires that is the same which is the 295/40R. the 285/40R is no good. but the 305/35 still good

so i was thinking to put Both 295/40R tire on front and Both 305/35 on the rear. i assume 305/35 is bigger and it should be on the Rear and small on front.. will that work?

I say this. because i dont really want to spend money unless i really have to.. i remember my sport car use to have Big on Rear and Small Tire on front.. i dont see why my SUV make any differents.

Also i will try to find a used 305/35 and try to match the Tread Wear of the tires... i think one new tire on one side and old on the other is a bad idea.

thanks.

Yea, i would put the 295/40 on the fronts. Shouldnt be a problem. Same size width and same size tall ( cant think of the real name of it, but the 2nd number (40, 45,50. etc) So i dont see it being a issue there.

For the rear, if the 285 is no good, get rid of it. But if one 305/35 is good and your going to get another one, its going to be smaller, that 2nd number, tallness, so the rear is going to be lower than the front, maybe not by much, maybe someone can chime in on that. But if you could i would see if you could get some 295/40's (2 of them) for the rear. Since you have to replace the bad one. Not a big deal having a 305 in the rear, just going to be wider, but the 35 will be smaller. But if the price for one 305 is better than 2 295's and worth it, then i guess i would just go the 305 route.

But to me, i would just get 2 more 295/40's for the rear. That way they are all the same. I just dont like the short sidewall. (thats the name of it, that 2nd number, the sidewall.) lol....

Your correct.. instead of just buying 1 tire. i will just purchase two 295/40R. so all the tires is the same. used tire is about 50 each here in san diego. hopefully.:emotions122:

is all 295/40R24 same size with all different brands of tires?

should be close enough to not stress out the drivetrain. you could always measure both tires your keeping (height) and compare it to the ones you plan on buying.

50 bucks isnt bad. Sure you can find some that are pretty good.

Like 96procomp said, should be alright.
