Hello All,
I recently installed an oem nav unit into my 2010 tahoe from a 2010 tahoe. I had it programed at my local gm service department and had issues from day one. First off the power volume is very touchy. When I twist the knob sometimes it changes the volume and other times it powers off the unit. Also it makes a strange sound like it is reading a disk but is loud enough to be noticeable. I have also had the battery go dead twice in the past week. What do y'all recommend I do to fix the issue besides buying an aftermarket radio.
Thanks,
Seth

The constant disc reading is apparently normal, or so I've been told by my dealer. I have no idea why the nav would need to read the disc when the truck is turned off, but whatever. Your other two issues are problems - perhaps your battery is dying from a bad ground, double check the ground you put in when installing the radio.

Not sure on the volume knob issue. If you ever have the nav unit out again with no power going to it, it might be worth spraying QD electronic cleaner on the circuit/wires attached to the volume knob.
