Before I order the speakers,

How hard of an installation would this be for someone with virtually no audio installation experience? I have installed a stereo once, that is about it. Would I even be able to do it? How much would a shop charge typically? Do I need anything other than the speakers? What about wiring?

Im sorry for being such a noob.

if its like my silverado I was given an adaptor so the plug went to the stock harness and then to the speaker plugs. But you will have to use self tapping screwes as the stock ones clip on there. But its as simple as that. One word of warning is I changed out my speakers in the silverado for components and noticed no difference in sound Then I changed the HU and got great sound. Later on added the amp for the speakers and and a sub and amp and its awesome, but I would recommend changing out your HU as well as the speakers only sound as good as their source. Also I recommend speaker baffles as they keep the bass tighter.

it's easy. The kit comes with the ability to run them even coax mounted, or surface mount, or cup...three options, with good instructions.

Hey all I'm the new guy here, and looking to upgrade my audio also. But to answer ur question if you dont plan on adding an amp to your system don't expect much from just adding aftermarket speakers since ur factory radion will not have enough juice to puch good aftermarket speakers. I have an 06 Denali and I bought some Polk components for my doors which I will be running with an Alpine amp. No subs for me also since I'm not interested in the BOOM, I just want clarity and loudness.

I have the RS components in my truck, sound great and took about an hour to install. I stuck the crossovers behind the glovebox.

Is that your tweeter you installed right next the main speaker? Another question any mounting bracket is need to replace the speakers or will 6 1/2 mount where the Bose was?

Mounted right up where the stock speaker was, I think I used one of the supplied plastic brackets but it wasn't an issue. Yes the tweeter is next to the mid.

if you havent done it before then dont try it. cuz if you break any clips off or anything like that at all, they will rattle forever and your screwed. If you have a custom audio store install it for you, they will charge you a little bit for supplies like wiring and such but installation for door speakers would prolly be around $60 but its worth it

Also never buy stuff from Best Buy unless you plan on letting them install everything and you plan on buying everything from them (which obviously no one does) b/c if you don't, any warranty you have on anything will be void even if you pay extra for it. If they didn't do it, they arent payin for it or gettin you a new one
