So you were able to use the TIS2000 software to reprogram the BCM? That's awesome! I've never done programming with the Tech2 yet myself. Glad you got her up and running again. Now you can use the Tech2 to do a deep scan of all the modules looking for trouble codes see what else might need immediate attention or to keep an eye on.

That last photo has no Candi module attached! If you figure the cost of a tow and the time for the dealer to figure out the problem and reprogram the module, I'd say the Tech2 has already paid for itself. What do you think?

Yes, I reprogrammed with the the TIS2000 software and no internet connections. It was a bit of a guessing game on whether it would do it, what the deal is with the online subscriptions, etc. Apparently there are cal files on the TIS2000 CD, at least for older stuff. I had to search and find a hack for the security dongle needed to program.

I also got to thinking that the old BCM may just need to be reprogrammed. Many places that sell BCM’s have core charges, which made me think they can be reprogrammed in some cases.

I didn’t have the CANDi hooked up when I was connected to the PC.

I learned a lot and feel confident in my Yukon again. The Tech2 will travel with me from now on. It’s definitely a great tool. I’ll be relooking tomorrow with the Tech2 and the Autel. There were lots of random errors. Several modules responded to the Tech2 but said they could not communicate with the BCM. At least I’m back to no idiot lights being on.

It's a cool tool, I've spent hours and hours exploring all it can do and probably just scratched the surface. Yes, they certainly can be reprogrammed though GM does not recommend it for some reason.

I just scored a genuine GM Tech 2 a few hours ago. Was scanning Craigslist and OfferUp for months, found one on OfferUp today, picked it up a few hours ago for $400

Tech 2, CANdi module, PCMCIA card with 32.007

Already loving it, hooked it up to the vette and Tahoe and went deep into most menus.
