Might be easiest to purchase on line or at a dealer. Can't be that expensive.

For a different reason I went through this same thing with my rack and trying to find a gasket. The problem is they don't sell just the gasket separately. You have to buy the entire side if you go through a dealer or any other GM website. What I did to find my gasket is I first searched eBay. I didn't have any luck at that time but it'd be worth a shot to see if someone is selling just the gasket piece. After that didn't work I started sending messages to ANYONE that had an ad up parting out an Escalade. I was successful with that. Bought the gasket for around $30 shipped or something like that. It was a big pain but that's what it took for me to get past the issue.

there are a couple on ebay right now. Search escalade end cap. They run from $45-$75 each, You would still have to paint it to match.

Hes not talking the cap, hes talking the gasket that meets the roof. Yes - only available if you buy the whole rail (from dealer). Its not listed as a separate PN. You'll spend some good money on a new rail that's not needed if you go that route. I would take Jacobs advice and scour the classifieds for an Escalade part out.

Yes, end caps are easy to find. It's the gasket that is the PITA to track down :waytogo:

Interesting, thanks Jacob. That makes my suggestion sound pretty stupid. Sorry, my bad.

It wasn't a bad suggestion and actually seems pretty logical but GM isn't always logical. It'd be nice if they offered things like those gaskets separately as their own PN but they don't and the only way you would have known that is if you'd gone through that pain before :jester: I'm happy that you haven't had to.
