negotiating sale price with post bail-out GM

Nice truck I agree with jacob. By the way if I was downgrading my wheels I would pick those wheels. They look real nice.

Dealers are a joke now. You walk in they super low ball you on a trade so forget trading. If you have your own financing they refuse to budge on prices. If you hide the above two facts while working the deal they act like you killed their mom and good look getting a deal now.

They told me I was stealing a Yukon with leather only option and 77k miles for 28k hmm. When I leave they call back and I replied I now have a z71 fully loaded no Thx

Even my car salesman buddy says they don't care. It's all about suckering the next dope who walks in after you and buys the car for some crazy figure.

Yeah I had to deal with the "No Haggle Pricing" too. I just about laughed when their response to me saying "so can we work on the price" was "the price on the window is as low as we go". I had a WTF look on my face and they didn't budge so I said thank you and left (two dealers). I finally found a Chevy dealership who didn't use that system. They were fair negotiators but I threw out my best offer and never moved a dime from there. I wasn't in a super rush to buy and I think they knew it. Not to mention the previous owner was a smoker and they knew the scent they used would wear off in a week so it would be harder to sell. So I guess they got me a bit, but I paid a very fair price and basically got an LTZ for less than an LT.

If the no haggle price was in fact a great deal than ok, but it wasn't!

It amazed me that I could not get four different GM dealerships to budge on price. This late in the month and they pass on a sure sale. It's crazy and if I ever decide I want a Volkswagon I know where i will be going.

Great salesman and a great experience.

I wanted to ask you guys why the Tahoes seem so much more expensive than Durangos. I saw plenty of Durangos, even high-end models, for around $33K sitting on the local Chrysler lot, and that's before any negotiation. I haven't seen Tahoes for anywhere near that low, based on Web prices at least (haven't made it to a dealer yet, but this thread suggests Web prices are the bottom anyway.

Perhaps I am comparing apples to oranges here (Tahoes are a bit bigger?). I'm curious because while I think Tahoes look the nicest, that sure isn't worth that big of a premium. And with the Durango, the rear seats go down flat, a pretty cool feature I don't think Tahoes do?

Indeed apples and oranges ... the Tahoe is a full size SUV whereas the Durango/Cherokee are termed 'crossover' or 'mid-size' suvs who's Chevy counterpart is the Traverse. Oh and the Durango is 46% Fiat. :)

Completely apples and oranges. Two totally different rides at different quality levels in every aspect and targeted to different audiences.

I thought about the durango. Not because of the car it self but mostly because michael c hall (dexter ) said so.

I never had any issues with my srt8 quality wise. It was great. I don't think I could compare it to how tough my yukon was.
