ok got some more info on that reduced power problem. step daughter says right before the reduced power comes into play she gets stabilitrak off message followed by reduced power message and engine won't accelerate. changed MAF sensor and cleaned connections on all O2 sensors. sensors appear to be working properly according to live data on code reader.

I feel we've covered this already, or it was another member. Anyway, have you ever checked the harness connection at the TB? They're known to develop intermittent connections. So common, in fact, that there are replacement plugs with pigtails on them.

not quite sure what you refer to when you say TB.

oh, ok. well the throttle body and throttle position sensor came as a unit. wiring does look good in that area. the stabilitrak (auto ride) doesn't have anything to do with reduced power?

So I'm on one of the ranch roads and a chime starts with message, "Stability control disabled." I tried telling it to call my VA shrink but it won't pay attention. Is there a place to get a key fob that will do all the things it should for my new to me 03 yukon denali? It does have the lifter clack noise going. Should I be expecting to pull the heads and learn how to replace lifters correctly? 178k or thereabout. Got it ;**** bad word.

well y'all, got to drive the Tahoe myself. after reading a post that said a low fluid level could cause it to go into reduced power mode, I checked oil levels. engine oil was good, transmission oil was about a half quart low. serviced transmission and me and 8 year old grandson took it for a drive after clearing code. 6 miles down the road and BOOM reduced power mode WITH service traction control system. what the heck has traction control got to do a P2138 Code?? HELP.

Got to thinking how a traction control failure would cause a P2138 code. No way unless ECM was bad. Decided i would disconnect the battery cables again and zip tied them together while i went and drank a beer. About 30 or 40 minutes later i reconnected them to the battery. Checked for any permanent codes or stored codes, None. So i decided to drive it to the store for more beer. ran great, no codes and no reduced power. then noticed gas tank almost empty, so i went and filled it up. Long story short, stepdaughter hasn't had any problems in about 3 weeks now. Thinking i may have cured the problem by a simple reboot. I can only hope so.
