Still not getting what you're trying to point out. Wheels are pushed out. The suspension components don't care. At least we agree that we dislike accoutrements on the hub.

Love all the boxy aero details of the hybrid! I get geeked out.

Jacked up!

It's just a 5/8 of an inch billet aluminum disc with holes for the bolts. It bears no weigh or stress when on.

Sorry it is dirty. :)

The result: Happy with the aggressive silver on black look (ie made the right decision for my needs) with a couple buts (c'est la vie)

-The rear looks a little jacked up than I'd like, but nothing I can't deal with as the new car suspension settles

-Ride quality is definitely no longer lincoln town car, but the better looks justify the change

I am rubbing at full lock when driving forward taking a left. Here's a shot from the top of the driver side tire rotating the steering wheel counter-clockwise (no rubbing opposite lock, pass side):

My tire shop advisor had their alignment person try to adjust the sway bar to get more room, but it just wasn't enough. The inside part of the tire is rubbing against it making a rubber on steel squeaking noise. I'm sure it's harmless just not ideal.

We thought about changing the caster, but the bar moves with the hub. Any bright ideas on how I can remedy this other than getting skinnier tires, adding spacers, etc?

Setup is the KMC Slides running 305/40/22 Toyo Proxes II. I thought also about researching a tire that runs skinnier same sizing since it varies slightly by manufacturer to manu.

Thanks for listening to my babble. I hope my experience can serve as a lesson learned for future modders.

That's one bad ass hybrid!!!

Yeah like Robbie said, the 285/45/22s didn't rub on my hybrid.

Btw, the McGaughys kit PN 30014 just drops the rear 2" to level it out if you ever want to do that.

I wonder why that wheel and tire size combo rubs against that bar.
I ran that exact combo on the Denali and barely rubbed liner in reverse at full lock.
Maybe it's a KMC offset thing or the fact that the front sits a tiny bit lower.

You've been thru this with me since day 1, soul! Thank you!!!!

The 305s look so right... but I will likely go skinnier with the 285s.

Is the lowering kit good quality? I'm assuming the hybrids don't have the active rear suspension so much simpler to swap out stock with shorter springs? i actually don't want level. i want a slightly less rake than stock.

Ben.. you won't really notice that huge of a difference with the 285/45/22... you'll be much happier without the rub. :Handshake:

Yeah, no rear autoride on the Tahoe and base Yukon Hybrids, just on the Denali and Escalade hybrids.

I bought that kit and never installed it ... sold it to 07burb who I think was very happy with it ... but he can chime in and tell you in person.

Speaking of esky/nali hybrids, they come stock with 285/45/22 so like me, you won't rub with those ... and you can always get those slide in spacers to push out the rear a bit.

And you're very welcome. :Handshake:
