New Battery, now throttle codes

High mileage 2004 Yukon XL Denali. Everything was working as it should. Battery died. Installed new battery. Immediately, I got CEL and a message that stabiltrac was turned off. Scanned and got codes P0120 (TPS circuit a) and P2135 (TPS circuit b).

Cleared codes but they came back. Don't see how I could have disturbed wiring at throttle body, but checked anyway. All connections are clean as can be.

Anyone run into this before?

Yes, when the positive is connected last and or touches metal and shorts out various components about the car.

I'm still solving electrical gremlins from when my wife jump started the car improperly a few months ago. It's only cost $950 so far.

FWIW Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal, turn on the headlights to drain the residual voltage, turn them off, then reconnect the negative terminal.

Or hit the brakes to drain the power, those lights are always in circuit. Does the vehicle start and run ok otherwise? And chance you knocked off a vacuum line or the MAF connector is leaking.

How quick did the codes come back? Came back in driveway or on a drive? Drivr for a while and let it relearn. Inspect any and all wiring in proximaty to battery work.

Codes came back immediately.

But,.... let it set two days. Started it up and the CEL went out. Cleared the codes and drove it 10 miles. All good now.
