Just wanted to introduce myself and my family's new ride. It's a 2007 Tahoe LT 4x4, 5.3l. It's pretty basic inside, cloth seats, 2nd bench (which is great to line up 3 car seats on), 3rd row seat available as well. Car has 129k miles on the clock, but runs pretty well for the mileage. Just took it on a 600 mile trip w/o any issues and was able to avg. 21mpg. I think I got a great deal on the car. Got it for $11.5k, however I have had to do some work to it since. Replaced F & R rotors and pads and EVAP solenoid. Luckily I was able to do the brakes myself and that saved me a ton of money! I have also put in a K&N filter in it. I still have to figure out why I am getting PO455 and I just recently got a airbag warning light. Should be able to address both things myself based on the guidance I came across here on this forum. Car also had some rust on the frame which I temporarily covered up by spraying with some flat black rastoleum. So far it's holding up well. Unfortunately, this has been a MI and OH car it's whole life and there is some minor rust on the rear doors seams. Car is currently in the body shop to have it fixed on the left side and I will tackle the right myself as it doesn't look too bad. Also, I think I will have to change plugs soon (aware of that PIA one ) as the steering wheel vibrates slightly when idling. Have cleaned MAF, but still there. Give all the above, I am hoping that it will serve me and my family well over the next 2-3 years. I am confident in these engines and their durability, but I am a bit worried with the electronics and the rust issue.
Now a bit about myself. I am a car enthusiast. Have had several different cars for the last 16+ years, including my first car which was a '95 f-body Camaro and my current '09 bmw m3 sedan. I am hoping to learn a lot about my Tahoe on here and be able to contribute in the future.
