image.jpeg image.jpeg hi everyone. I own a 98 Chevy Tahoe. I just recently put the motor out of my 97 into the 98. After getting it running it kept on blowing the ENG 1 fuse which I know runs the cam sensor oxygen sensors egr valve and I think there's something else that runs off it but I can't think of what it is right now. It run like crap because of it. I was thinking a bad o2 sensor so I unplugged them one by one and it still kept blowing that fuse. I unplugged every sensor that run off that fuse and it still blew it. I checked for bad wiring I couldn't find any. I ended up replacing the wiring harness pulling the one off my 97 and putting it on my 98. I had to use the tranny wiring from the 98 and the engine harness from my 97 which when I got it put back together it wasn't blowing the ENG 1 fuse anymore and run a lot better than it did. My new problem. The only gauge that works in it is the tach and the volt gauge. The fuel gauge goes all the way past full the oil pressure gauge goes past 80 and the temp gauge don't move. I have this one plug it's labeled PED 10 and I can't find where it goes. Im wondering if this is why my gauges don't work? This one plug is driving me crazy. I'm hoping someone can tell me something about this plug. Thanks everyone.

Looks like the same plugs I unplugged on my abs pump.

That's what I was thinking but I can't find it on the abs pump.

I rechecked my 99 and I don't have a look that looks anything like that one in that area. Might be something that the '97 uses that the '98-'99 do not have. I would recommend getting another hardness for a '98 model and see if your issues are still there.

I believe that's what I'm going to have to do because the tach is reading way off the speedo is around 30 mph off and the only gauge that works is the volts. The check engine light doesn't come on when you first turn the key on and the lights for prndl doesn't come on unless I turn the key part of the way off the gas gauge is pegged way past full the oil pressure is pegged all the way over the temp gauge doesn't move.

I have a wiring harness but not sure if it will work for yours because its in a 00 Cadillac escalade and there was different add-ons for the escalade/denali models.

Do you need the engine hardness?

Yes. I was going to go by pull a part tomorrow after work. They have a couple of 98's there. I can get the complete harness for 25.00. I believe that's where my issue with everything is. Something different from 97 to 98. Just don't know what it is.

I know the the transmissions are different from the 97 then the 98-00. If they dont have a harness let me know. It would probably cost $25 to just ship it. We have a few pull a part junkyards around here but some of the prices they charge for things are just plan stupid when I can buy some things new for cheaper.
