Congrats mate, a new purcahse is always a good thing. Originally from the UK, crap weather is a normal way of life, snow doesn't compare to Alaska, but no matter where you go, so many drivers know crap about driving in snow, even hard rain (spot the knob head up your arse when its raining?).
My take is if you've grown up in Alaska and been driving a while, you'll know more about driving in snow than most, but my thoughts are this. Driver skill has more to do with performance than any other factor. But correct me gents if i'm wrong 2WD vs 4WD helps with weight? lower gear ratio, lower tire presures, snow chains all aid in better grip, but most accidents happen (seen with my eyes) because many think 4WD equal total grip, and this is simply not the case. Correct me if i'm wrong (and i'm just put it out that as a question).
Cheers POLO
