Hey guys,

My father-in-law and I spent yesterday afternoon wiring in a new head unit (Pioneer AVH-280BT) and an Axxess gmos-04 into my '04 Tahoe. We got the system chimes dialed-in, reverse camera hooked up & working, radio hooked up & working with a GM factory antenna adapter. With the ignition on, sound comes on just fine for either radio or Bluetooth, but it then cuts out after just a few seconds. I've repeated this a few times, and the same thing happens.

Any ideas as to what may be going on? (i.e. what I screwed up :) )

Thanks!

OK, I messed around with it little more and confirmed:

1. When the ignition is on and the driver's door is open, both the radio and bluetooth sources play just fine. The door chimes are also audible.

2. When the ignition is on and the driver's door is closed, both the radio and bluetooth sources cut out after a few seconds.

So it seems we've mis-wired something between the GMOS-04 harness and the head unit. I'll keep digging, but if you have any suggestions, I'd appreciate it!

Does it keep the radio stations programmed?

If it keeps the stations, you wired the red wire (switched) to the RAP (which is what turns the radio on/off with the doors)

If it does NOT keep the stations, then you have the yellow wire (constant) to the RAP

I had to return mine recently because it was defective.
