New here and to the Tahoe

Hey all, my name is Rick and I just bought a 1996 Tahoe 4dr 4wd with 107k miles on it. I pick it up Monday and will post some pics then. It is in great condition and think I got a pretty good deal. I paid $2000. Its an LT and the seats are in good condition ans everything seems to be in good working order with one exception the ABS light is on... breaks work well and seem to stop normally both normally and when you jam on them, I was wondering what you thought could be the culprit. Any way just wanted to join the club and say hello...

Welcome aboard sir! Sounds like you got a deal for $2000 with that type of miles. If the ABS light is on, it could be and most likely is the wheel bearings. They have a sensor that gets dirty or corroded and sometimes need to be cleaned. But since the vehicle is 14 years old and is your daily driver, it's probably not a bad idea to replace the bearings. It's an easy straight forward job and will run like $100-150 a piece I think. I did mine 3 years ago so that price range could be off...
