It has an 8 speed. the current MY has a 10 speed

Yes, and that is the only trim level that has MRC for Tahoe and Suburban. For Yukon (XL) you don’t get it until you’re up to Denali.

Depends. Early 15s had the 6 speed, later 15s had the 8.

Look at your build date on the drivers side front door frame towards the bottom. 10/15/14 and after had the 8speed among other options.
