If you were using it on the road, yes I could see it not lasting long (in any town).

I am confused as to the point of this "mod"
I think I could probably say the same about other mods too..

even not using then.. the fact that you have the same size and location behind the grill lights as the undercover have is enough warrant for the cop to question. and the moment you fire them up at his request and he/she finds out that they are blue and you have a PA you are done for..

All i am saying is be careful you are pushing the limits thats all i am saying.. asked a state trooper buddy today about it and sent your picture. he said he would pull you over in a heart beat.

I would totally understand getting pulled over if I was using them on the road, makes a lot of sense. But getting pulled over just because you have LED bars behind your grille would be ridiculous, especially considering they make off-road auxiliary LED bars now. At that point I would claim they didn't work and I bought the truck with them on. Also, turns out with the LTZ grille you really have to be looking for them, can't see them hardly unless they are on.

What about volunteer firefighters? They have blue lights. I know a few and even have one at work. They are allowed two sets on a vehicle and they always use blue. I understand impersonating, but depends on the situation i guess.

this may be true.. but they pull people in old Crown vics with the spot light and the owners add CB antennas on the trunk like the cops.. and that is warrant for impersonation and they most likely dont work..

you are correct they make off road LED bars.. BUT you have yours BLUE and mounted identical to a cop.. this is my point. you made it to close to the undercover. and if you know what to look for you can look thru the grills and see the lights. i see cops lights all the time around town.. there are a number of drug dealers and people that try and look like cops to avoid trouble..

Im just trying to yield a friendly warning is all..

around here the fire guys.. (neighbor is one) RED and white is the only colors allowed..

they will pull people with BLUE neons or blue on your motorcycle. as the cop cycles have blue al over them..

i have never seen FIRE with blue.. im not saying you are wrong but do a double check that they are not red..

Ok so say they are "for fire" when the cop asks for info on his volunteer status and he has none.. boom lie caught.. just saying.. also V-Fire mount them in rear also.

I hear ya john. Everyone i know that is a firefighters or volunteer has blue. They have a topmount and a grill mount most of the time. Heres what i found for pa, im sure it varies by state though.

article 4572 says blue lights, but only police can use red and blue.

Its all good autbond, we are just lookin out for ya. Keep it safe man.
