I have fixed my 2008 Tahoe Z55 system twice, no more! I want to change to springs and shocks that would be on a standard suspension. couple of questions: variable rate and constant rate springs? Spring load rating? Shocks? Kits? Not towing anything heavy any more. Mainly just longer road trips with two people. Any tips appreciated.

There’s a ton of threads on this topic that answer all your questions. Use the search feature within the street suspension of the 2007-2014 forum and it will give you all the threads on it.

It's tough to find load ratings for springs anymore. Monroe quit publishing them. Basically, you want to convert yours to a basic ZW7 suspension and lots of guys on here have done that. Many go with Bilstein 4600 or 5100 shocks.

There's lots of ways to skin this squirrel.

Welcome Jim there’s also a vendor here that can help with a full kit but as James stated it’s been done many times and most sites like rock auto have everything you’d need. If a kit is what you want reach out to @NORCAL SS. Tony is a big help.
