Hello, Just bought a 22 z71 this afternoon, on way home all hell broke loose. Traction control and check engine light came on and some esc warning. Lost most power limped home down the street then smoke started pouring out. Unable to get it in neutral for tow truck. Beyond pissed, my 2019 f150 screw never had 1 issue. Any thoughts? Can I just cancel the deal since it was same day?

Did you buy it used?
It does sound like a lifter issue, but I don't think I recall any reports of those going on same day of purchase or with less than 500 miles on an engine....

don’t panic, I am sure your pissed, but get with the dealer and go from there. Keep us updated. Is this the 5.3? Good luck and stay positive, be professional as long as the dealer is professional.
Yes it is the 5.3, Im trying to look at the bright side it least it wasnt my wife and kids in it driving an hour away like they are planning to next week.

Hopefully the dealer sees the reason you would be so upset and want to make it right. Tell them you bought the rig in good faith and want a similar size rig with unlimited mileage, as a loaner till yours is right. Also, make sure you demand paperwork that goes in to great detail as to what was wrong and what was done to fix it. Also, as a sign of good faith, you want a free "extended protection plan".

By the way, welcome to the forum.
