I have the LM2 engine in my 24 GMC Yukon SLT. While it is a good performer, I do not get anywhere near the mileage others claim to get, and I have taken several long road trips. The best I have ever done was 31.1 over a 50-mile stretch, but I was stuck in traffic, moving 45 MPH. When I am on the highway at 75 MPH, I get about 25-26 MPG.

I get my DEF at Home Depot. They have the least expensive stuff available, and I only fill it every 5K.

I recommend not getting a diesel if it's for driving around town on short trips. You want to use it on the road. Also, be prepared to see wild swings in fuel prices. Right now, diesel is about $1 more per gallon than regular unleaded.
This is exactly what I get. Nothing wrong with that? Still 30% better than the gasser at least!

I did achieve 30mpg over a 50 mile stretch at 75mph+ however. Was not all flat highway either.

Thanks for this post. Wondering how DEF has been going when towing now that you have the software update?
I haven’t really had to tow…. Just ran the jet ski 20 miles down the highway to drop it off for winter maintenance and then 20 miles home. Can’t say for sure otherwise.

I always use OEM, change it every 15k. The number 1 reason why diesels are towed into dealerships, clogged fuel filter.

Just be very careful to buy from AUTHORIZED dealers. Lots of cheap knock-offs selling at discount pricing on online stores. Seen it, looks ac delco but a far east clone. AC Delco is to most counterfeited auto parts brand

Almost 15k miles on our 2024 Suburban 3.0 and absolutely love it. Oil changes are easy, takes exactly 7 quarts and Mobil 1 ESP X2 is Dexos D rated and available at Walmart as are the AC Delco filters. I did the oil at 4k and then every 5k since so 3 changes so far. Going to do fuel filter next week. We average 21-22 mph hand calculated in the city and will get 26-32 mpg on the highway depending on road conditions and if using 2WD or AWD. DEF is easy to fill and lasts a long time, never had an issue with regen.

I would buy another one.

Edit: The ride quality is amazing too. We have an RST and I thought with the 22’s it would ride rough but Chevy has the suspension dialed on these, incredibly comfortable to drive.
