Recently found this forum and joined as I search for my next vehicle. Currently in a high mileage Traverse and decided I wanted to get back into a Tahoe/Yukon, but with prices the way they are and I want to do some mods, I have started searching for a 2005/2006 Tahoe or Yukon. I previously owned a 2000 Tahoe Z71 which I loved. I feel like to 03-06 Tahoe/Yukon provides a great mix of older vehicle with options/mods available and can't wait to find my ride and start posting some more.

Welcome from the Redneck Riviera(MS Gulf)! Last Spring I began a journey similar to what you have in mind, only in search of a rust free and well kept 02-06 Escalade. Took several months but finally found a garage kept '06 in N. AL. Bought it right and its been undergoing rebuild and mods ever since. I prefer the styling and the slightly shorter length of the pre-07s to newer models. Hope you find one that is rust free, without body damage and in the color you prefer. Just about everything else on these trucks can be easily and comparatively cheaply added, modified, replaced or cleaned up.
