Yea, I have no trouble codes or lights at all. Other than no power to the front axle there was no indication of a malfunction. To verify the transfer case issue I carefully placed the vehicle on jackstands and put it in 4wd and in gear to see what was going with my driveline. Not only did my front driveshaft not spin, but there's a faint "marbles rolling around" sound coming from the transfer case(couldn't hear it while driving), which I would assume is a toasted bearing or two in there. Luckily after watching a couple videos on a np246 rebuild it doesn't seem out of my scope of abilities. I'm a little concerned about the clutch pack spacing and what not but many seem to get away with the factory setup so I'm optimistic about that. Once I get a couple days to mess with it, I'll break her down and rebuild my first transfer case and hope for the best.

Good luck with the transfer case rebuild. Be sure to check for the pump rub issue on the inside of your case. I just opened my case with 268 K on the clock and was just starting to get some rub on the magnesium case from the anti rattle clip. By the way, I have the exact same rig as you except it is a 1998. How is the interior of your truck?

Oh yea, I definitely plan on addressing the pump rub debacle. From what I can tell, it's all factory sealed so an upgrade will be ready to install before I tear it down. The interior is pretty rough, but I've been upgrading/replacing interior parts here and there. Just installed some Denali door panels and replaced my 4wd and headlight switches. New door pins and bushings. My air conditioner controls are still functional to a degree but the mounting is all cracked to s##t(considering the price of replacement, I'm on the hunt for a decent second-hand unit). Cigarette burns in the head liner:flame:, but worst of all my dash is literally broken into about 20 pieces. Seems as though one of the previous owners had some anger issues. Oh and I scored a grey console out of that same denali that the door panels came off of. Of course the carpet is quite rough, but surprisingly the factory leather power seats are fully operational with only minor cracks/tears. Upgraded both interior roof lights to some I pulled out of a suburban. They're the newer style with the two round directional lights just like the front. I have a bunch of ideas and aspirations to fix all of these cosmetic issues but for the mean time she runs great and more importantly it's not my DD(so I don't have to look at the dash every day) but one day I hope to change that haha.
