So I replaced a bent trailing arm on the driver's side last night and now I get a strange popping noise but it almost sounds like it's in the front. I haven't been under it to look just yet but was hoping somebody might be able to direct me to the problem before hand. It makes the noise on most bumps but is really noticeable when I take off and slow down normally. I'm hoping to get under there after work today but if anybody has any ideas that'd be great!

Thanks :Handshake:

Could it be the rear springs settling back in place maybe?

I am having same problem, and can't tell you it's the same situation tho. I get a popping, diffenent rear, from trailing arms. It does sound like front alot of the time, but echoe effect. Mine only does it really on angled bumps, and HARD take offs!! Are you lowered? Culd be shock mounts loose, and "popping" out of place in up and down movements. Cult be springs, but they usually don't pop unless really out of pocket. If lowered, possible panhard bar replacement might be in need.

Yeah, I'm lowered about 3/5"ish. The only thing I changed was the driver's trailing arm so I'm hoping it's just a loose bolt or something will settle back into place since it didn't do it before. I haven't done any really hard take offs, most were pretty tame since I was listening for the noise.

I did have the truck jacked up pretty high on the frame so the axel was "hanging" but was supported by another jack though. Not sure if there was enough room for the spring to unseat or not.

Man, I would say get adjustable panhard bar!! But, Have been discussing this in other threads, and not gonna tell you it's your problem. But obviously, when you lower these, axle shifts to passenger side, which will move everything over, obviously!! I didn't have as bad popping, until i did relocation brackets, and I had to remove trailing arms!! I got bigger grade 8 bolts to hopefully help, but still seems to "pop". IDK, damn rear POP

It could have unseated the spring. Mine moved when I jacked it up to see about mounting an air tank. Took a little force and put it back straight..

No offense whiteout but I'm really hoping J-dub is right! Especially since it'd be a free fix!

So that'll be the first thing I look at tonight and I'll go ahead and double check the bolts.

WHITEOUT I am waiting on you and your panhard bar bc I am having the same popping noise. I have 3" control arms and TB springs in rear. I also bought grade 8 bolts. So please respond when you get your adj. panhard bar bc if it fixes it I will be buying one.

Well, I couldn't find anything in the rear but after driving it some more, the more I think it's in the driver front. Every now and then I swear I can feel it in the floorboard right under my feet. Any ideas??
Think whatever it is was caused by having the rear jacked up so high?
It's driving me nuts!
