Have you replaced the ball joints yet? I notice that your vehicle is a year older than mine. My '03 Tahoe needed that a while back to reduce play in the steering. I have 331,000 miles now but that was back maybe in the 225,000 mile range.

Actually, he was expressing that his steering was too sensitive, based on what he is used to.

Welcome from Texas! Just want to pile on the suggestion to get a proper alignment. I don’t think the size of tires will make that big a difference in the handling, it’s a pretty minimal change.
