As long as they aren't to dark I'm sure you'd be fine. Some people go way to far with the tint and the light is barely visible. Just don't go to crazy and make sure when you hit the brakes, plenty of light come through. In SC it's against the law to tint the reverse lights. So I just taped over mine when I was tinting them.

I don't want them completely black just enough to have them noticeable like a light smokey effect
