newer member with 2002 Yukon XL Denali lookin for ideas

Hi I'm a newer Member with a 2002 Yukon XL Denali with 128,000 miles. I'm looking for some new ideas and opinions on what I should do with it. The Engine, to my knowledge is stock. what kind of upgrades should I do on it, also it has a small leak from the rear main seal. The interior has a few little things, it's prewired for a sub and amp. It also has Tvs in the headrest both are not hooked up because the previous owner replaced the headunit with the stock bose one right before I bought it. The exterior is in kind of semi rough shape, a few knicks here and there also it seems as if the passenger side rear door denali molding came off the guy gave me a new one but unfortunately its champagne, should I go ahead and paint and put on the new one or take all the rest off and the running guards. Also, the tailights were blacked out with spray paint and you can see the overspray. Needless to say the person that had it before me was retarded. I took them off and sanded/resprayed them, they don't look like whats in the photos. Anyways, looking for some good ideas on how to make my truck look, sound and perform better.

-subs? (size, Amp, box)?
-headunit? (double or single din)

Looks
-lowered or lifted if so how much?
-demolded and running guards taken off? Roof racks taken off?
-rims what size and tires what size ( don't want it to rub.)
-plastidip the whole car (let me explain I want a Matte look, Also I dont want it to be pernament and might want to change, right now I'm thinking a Red and black combo would look sweet.)

Double din if you dont mind shaving the bezel
You will regret Subs when you are older

Slam it
Plastic dip grill and wheels black
Paint the denali trim and keep it on

Performance
Forget everything and put a magna charger on it

I would definitely leave the moldings on there. Denali's look strange when it is removed. Also, if you remove the running boards, you'll see the frame.

I like a clean subtle approach personally

Sound--no input as stock is fine for me

Exterior--Maybe upgrade to some OEM 20's or 22's
2/3 drop--hit up NORCAL SS-he's a vendor on here with great customer service


Performance-- C.A.I.--your choice--check out Blackbear--vendor on here as well
Exhaust-Corsa Sport--a little pricey but worth every penny
Tune--Blackbear again-their tune will wake it up and help out that CAI

Get some stock 20s or 22s and a drop would set off the exterior. Interior like stated above double din and maybe a small sub for just a little bump. Denali molding I would paint and put on and don't remove the running boards, frame shows. Besides that intake, exhaust (corsa is great) and a Blackbear tune.

Here's what I'd do if it were me:

Sound/Stereo:
- Double din conversion: Buy a bezel and radio bucket from an '03-'06 Denali. You'll have to shave the bottom of the bezel and custom fit the climate controls, but it'll look way more factory than cutting into the stock bezel.

- Awesome front stage: 6.5" component speakers, get something high-end and feed them 125-ish watts each. Buy some sound deadening mat and get crazy on the doors. Try to seal the doors like an enclosure for the speakers.

- Small rear stage/remove rear stage: If you want fill for passengers, get some decent speakers or try amping the stock ones, but most of your sound should be in the front. You can also get rid of the rear speakers all together, the best sound comes from only a front stage.

- Subwoofer(s): This is entirely up to your preference. You can go loud if you want, or just get something to keep up with the front stage. The most important thing here is to get the right box. Pick your subwoofer(s) and have a box custom built to their specifications. A sealed box will give you good sound at almost all frequencies and can save space. If you want hair shaking lows, have a ported box built and tuned for 32-34 hz. Mine houses two 10's with 1.9 cu. ft. per subwoofer, tuned to 33 hz, and takes up almost the entire cargo area behind the 3rd row. So if you want cargo space, don't go that route.

Looks:

- Lower it: The Denali's AWD system makes it somewhat of a pain to lift, if I remember correctly. That, and the bumpers, moldings, and running boards all have a very urban/street look to them. Go as low as you want, just know it becomes less and less comfortable/easy to drive the lower you go.

- Wheels: I'd say 22's, but 20's would also look alright. 24's are getting pretty big, and 26+ is just dumb. Pick a wheel with a simple, clean design that is solid color. Black if you're going for the "murdered out" look, chrome if you're keeping some of your factory chrome, or silver if you're blacking out factory chrome, but don't want to go all black.

- Paint/Plasti-Dip: Denali's look awesome with color matched front ends. Luckily, yours is black, so Plasti-Dip will match. 2 or 3 cans will get you blacked out for cheap. If you want to spend some coin, have a body shop paint the front end.

Performance:

- Tune: A tune is the best way to get better performance. Take it to a shop with an all wheel drive dyno or get one from BlackBear Performance. Off-the-shelf tuners can help, but you won't see the kind of results that a custom tune will give you.

- Exhaust/Intake: Mostly for sound, but can be helpful, especially with custom tuning. If you're going the dyno or BlackBear route, get your intake and exhaust first. I've had good luck with K&N intakes, I currently have an AEM Dryflow that seems to be fine, I've also heard good things about Volant. Exhaust is mostly a sound preference, but I'd suggest going Magnaflow.
