Not a fan of Dynomax mufflers.
Not related to the SUVs, but I had Dynomax mufflers on my Corvette about 10 years ago and had a bad experience with them concerning the quality and customer support side.
The Dynomax sound was very nice with no interior drone, very hard to achive on the 4th gen Corvettes so I was happy the first few years with them.
My problem came about 3 years later when both mufflers rusted out from the inside and separated at the muffler hanger. I lived in Southern California at the time so it was only condensation inside the muffler that caused the rust, not living in a salt area like I do now.
Anyway, I contacted Dynomax and was told that in order to honor the lifetime warranty that both mufflers would have to be cut off and shipped to them at my expense for inspection to determine if I qualified for replacement. At the time the Corvette was my only vehicle so I couldn't very well get along with no mufflers. I sent them close up pictures of where the hangers had separated and the rusted out hole at each mounting point, no good. They demanded the mufflers to inspect in person to honor the warranty.
I haven't purchased a Dynomax product since.
I ended up replacing the rusted out Dynomax mufflers with a Flowmaster Force II catback. It's aluminized like the Dynomax mufflers were, but after 10 years they're still as good as new.
I'm getting ready to replace the too-quiet stock muffler on my Escalade. For me, I'm goint to go with the Flowmaster 50 series. Still trying to decide between the SUV and the Big Block 50 series.
