The original issue was a wire grounding out on the start causing it to pop an ignition fuse. We thought that it was the ignition switch. Went on to replace that breaking the little piece that connects the ignition switch and key hole together to make them turn in unison to keep the truck running. Otherwise it would start and stall quickly. After breaking the column, we found the grounded out wire.

well if you got to start now then you could probably eliminate that as a fault. being as how you had issues with the wiring in the column I would suggest to first remove its covers and inspect the wiring from top of column to its bulk connector under the dash. also what was the status of the security indicator? on, off, flashing and when please.

it sounds like you may require an alarm reprogramming that may correct the issue. especially if you replaced a module in the system that was not the originally installed one.

turn the key to start for just a moment to jerk the starter but do start the engine and let it run. let the key fall to the run position. do not let it turn back any further. over the next 10 minutes what does the light do?

i suppose you could try disconnecting the battery for about 5 minutes that should reset everything
back when i worked for a car wholesaler we would get vehicles at the auction with security systems that would cause no start issues and i could still start the vehicle by jumping the starting solenoid

Big Bertha rides again! It took the new steering column plus a long computer reset but she runs as good as she did when I bought the old girl. Next up... I have a bad spider injector that needs replacing to get the engine light off and make her run smoother. Hopefully gas mileage will go up to alittle...
