Not sure is AWD is working

I had about 2 months ago bought an 03 Yukon Denali xl 6.0 awd and recently in the snow I'm not sure if it is working I know the front shaft and axels are in place but when going up a hill the rear wheels started slipping and front just stood still

All wheel drive is not four wheel drive. I have a 06 denali xl same system. Computer should apply brakes but system sucks! Try turning off traction control and lots of gas!

thank you I will take it back out when I get home from work today I leave that gas hawg at home for her to drive local and I drive the car to work thanks for the reply I'll get it on the hill again and see how it does

I’ve had an 02 and now an 04 Denali and my system worked flawlessly on both

My truck has no service lites on and rarely spins any tires but when it does I never notice traction control brake or it’s way late. Side note I live in Florida no snow and never had it in snow!

Yes but not sure if t case is turning it or front wheels
