My 2010 Tahoe getts better mpg's than the new ones. 21 vs 19 on the Hwy. I've seen 22.5 mpg if I keep it at 70.

70mph? Who drives that slow on the highway? Sammy Hagar would not approve.

I guess, to each his own... I bought my 21 Yukon Denali after driving my 07 Yukon SLT for 13 years. The Magnetic Ride Control alone was worth what I paid... This vehicle rides better than any other vehicle I've ever owned, cars included... I definitely have turned off most of the nag bells and auto assist features, but there's no way I'd go back to my 07, bumpy ride, solid back end, low tech beast. And I loved that truck. I love this one more... The 10 speed transmission does have some quirks. My issue there is the shift from first to second gear during acceleration, where it seems to die during that shift, unless I step down hard... I also don't like all the sequestering of the exhaust, with the flaps before and after the muffler, but I've already taken care of that. And for those talking about getting a tuner, the 21 and ups are LOCKED DOWN. I've been waiting / hoping for a Pulsar LT for it, but it doesn't look like one is coming. Last but certainly not least, having the 6.2 engine ties you to premium gas, which is because of the Russia situation over $4 / gal.

But, even with all the things I don't like about my 21, THERE'S NO WAY I'D GO BACK. The world moves forward. Time marches on. I am glad I got the 21 and not the 22, so I'm not tied to Google, but I have an android phone anyway, so it doesn't much matter... Yes, I have location services turned off, but I am aware that they still are "on".

I understand where you're coming from, not liking all the tech, but some tech is REALLY GOOD...

Here's the question I always think about when I see posts like this (and I'm not "picking" on you, I just want to ask this question). How worn out was the 2007? I feel like since most people do the bare minimum for maintenance and repairs that how can it not feel great when they trade a 10+ year old vehicle with worn out suspension for a brand new one? I don't care if you think it wasn't worn out, it was absolutely worn out if the suspension was original or even mostly original and 10+ years old. Rubber bushings get weak, springs get weak, shocks get weak. I have replaced literally the entire suspension on my 2008 and 2013 (all 8 control arms, springs, all 4 shocks, panhard bar, Michelin 22"s). I've been driving the K2 trucks since they came out I can without a doubt say my 2008 rides and drive better and so far the T1 SUV's with or without air are not impressing me for the price they cost although they do ride MUCH better than the K2 trucks.

Here's the thing about tech. Tech moves FAST and, in a vehicle where none of it is upgradeable, when that tech is outdated there's nothing you can do with it I honestly think that is worse than not having it at all. The crappy MyLink radio in my 2016 SS sedan literally never worked right with my iPhone because it was already dated when I bought the car (the SS came out in 2014 and the SS and Equinox/Terrain were last vehicles to still use that radio and I think 2017 was the last year of it). I’m not against new technology because some of it is good but when they just keep coming up with gimmicky crap or make stuff flat out not work a couple years after you buy it to keep you spending money, I have a big problem with that.

Either way, I'm glad so many on here seem to be able to afford a new car every few years and neither of these things are an issue for them so I'm glad you're happy with your purchase. The most money I have ever spent on a car was $56k for a 2 year old Corvette and I still regret how much that cost me to this day and I traded that car for the SS 5 years ago. I cannot fathom spending $80k on a GM SUV every 3-5 years.

Most people buy these vehicles on credit. There are very few families that can actually afford a new $80k SUV in cash every 3-5 years. The gravy train is about to end with the way the economy and interest rates are going.

But I agree with you on why a 10+ year old vehicle may not feel "great" compared to a new car. I have a 2014 335i with 150,000 miles on it and I track that car a lot so I am pretty meticulous about replacing worn suspension parts. In that time, I've overhauled the suspension 1-2 times as well as the brake system. There's been a lot of pre-emptive maintenance done and I've done nearly all the work myself. It still feels like new. The downside is the tech gets old and there's no easy way to retrofit it. So I usually wait and time my purchases right after an interior mid cycle refresh while the chassis and powertrain are relatively unchanged.

Well, I can tell you FOR CERTAIN that it was NOT worn out. Take a look at the second build thread in my signature. That truck got babied. It was 13 years old with 150,000 miles. I've always had a second car. The front end suspension had been done TWICE. I did not make that post ignorantly... I don't disagree with you that some tech becomes outdated, or is not necessary / overkill. But you can't tell me that you don't think that the auto brake feature has not saved a pedestrian or 2's life, or kept several distracted drivers from rear ending the car in front of them. Those lives saved / wrecks avoided are definitely JUSTIFICATION for adding / developing new tech. The auto stop / start functionality saves gas. That's a FACT. Is it enough to justify it? That's a matter of opinion. But you cannot argue that it saves gas. Seatbelts save lives. FACT. It is a LAW that they must be worn. You may or may not agree with the LAW, but you cannot argue that seatbelts SAVE LIVES. So a nagging warning bell to tell you to put on your seatbelt is there to SAVE YOUR LIFE. Is that justification enough for the nag? I would say so.

As far as the advances / tech in the media / infotainment? Sure, it's a progression, and some of it is gimmicky, buggy, or useless. But 15 years ago, I had to wear an ear piece to talk on the phone hands free in my car. In my 2007, I had to swap out the head unit to add blutooth and talk hands free through the added mic and stereo speakers. Was that an improvement over the ear piece? ABSOLUTELY. Now, in my 21, it comes equipped with that, PLUS Android auto, from the factory. is that an improvement? HELL YES.

I grew up with hand crank windows in our cars. power windows did not exist, and when they were invented, they were a luxury. MY SON HAS NEVER SEEN / BEEN IN A CAR WITH HAND CRANK WINDOWS.

Again, I understand what you are saying. We live in a disposable society. Things don't last as long as they did when we were growing up, and some of the innovations are straight TRASH. But, as I stated in the original post, some of the tech is REALLY GOOD, REALLY BENEFICIAL. You will ALWAYS have to take the good with the bad. That is LIFE.

“I think the computers are too much for me and I want a clean 1999 suburban with 100k miles or less and my cash back. If you want to buy it PM me I am considering my options. It’s gray the color is great.”

Since you’ve been looking at Suburbans around my vintage, thought I’d ask what kind of pricing you think a 2003 might go for. I purchased it new, an LS four-wheel, 5.3L non-flex with about 100k miles. A California vehicle, dual AC, am/fm multi-disc CD, rear DVD, bucket seats in front with two bench seats for the rear. Has never needed body collision work. White with gray interior. Clean title / passes CA smog.

IMHO, I'd keep it. With the chip shortages we are currently plagued with, your vehicle would be irreplaceable. Ask me how I know.
