Obnoxious stickers on sun visors

I know that this is probably akin to taking the tag off of a mattress, but...

Has anyone had any luck removing the adhesive from the overhead sun visor after removing the sticker? The stickers really contrast with the dark interior, so I removed one. There is still a pretty pronounced area where the sticker was of residual adhesive. I have tried steam and a bit of goo gone to no avail. Anyone had any luck with this?

Just cover it with a more desirable sticker or even a solid black decal.
