I think my six speed 09 Denali 6.2L shifts so smooth. I don't see what all the fuss is about. It's great. I have no complaints. It can only get better once all these vehicles have 8 speed transmissions.

Just got off the phone with my dealer. He stated the 8 speed will be so much smoother, I will feel a slight tingly feeling in my sac. I can't wait! :party36::party36::party36:

Settle down Felix ... after 26 GMT 900s in a row I'm pretty sure you're accustomed/addicted to it.

You get disoriented if your slip yoke doesn't clunk at least once a day.

2018 when the 10 speed comes out... everyone will diss the 8 speed and say that it shifted like a honda 300 4wheeler

Sold my 2015 Yukon Denali to order 2015.5 Denali

Lol you think id keep buying them if the transmission sucked? I can feel a definite improvement from the 6.2L's 07 Esky to 09 Denali's 6 speed transmission. And also an improvement from the 5.3L 07/08 Tahoe and avy to the 11 Yukon I currently own. It seems like GM really fine tuned it as the years went by. I can only imagine what a '15 6 speed is like. I'm sure it's dialed in at this point. But I'm not gonna like I want the 8 speed when I do get one lol.

8 pages of debate over which massively excessive and overpriced piece of American iron we prefer.

Major first world problems.

If they come out with a 10-speed in 2018, and pricing and discounts apply, and I have a customer that would purchase my 8-speed Denali, and I can depreciate a brand new 10-speed vehicle (if regulations don't change by then)...well I would probably do it if it makes sense.

No one ever said they should take a loss and move to an 8-speed truck. But if you're not in a hurry, and have a Denali on order and haven't received it yet, well what's a season or so to receive a newer variant?
