Oil Cooler Block Off Plate Delete?

I’ll have to get up underneath this evening and look around.
Not too long after replacing that gasket, I started seeing seepage again around that block off plate. I got a new one and used black RTV (very small amount) to secure it. Didn’t really think much of it after that.
I just got my gasket, waiting for a break in the weather since I have to do it outside, hopefully tomorrow.

Here’s how I solved my leaking problem on my Escalade which is the same part.
I had no trouble with leaks after changing my block off gasket. I used the ACDelco one, no sealant. There is RTV specifically rated for oil.
Also, checking the rear main by looking through the bell housing inspection plate doesn't mean there is no leak from the rear. There is a rear main cover that leaks, but you won't be able to see it through the flexplate. When the oil drains down the back of the plate, it can hit the top lip of the oil pan and drain off to the side. In this way, the back of the engine will actually look dry even if you have a bad leak. How do I know this? It happened to me.
However, it's always good to change the easy to reach gaskets first. They're cheap and easy to do. The rear cover and rear main is a royal PITA!

wow I am late getting to this one. If I follow correctly my stock oil pan should have a "oil cooler delete plate on it stock as I do not have the cooler option. My plan is to upgrade my radiator get add that feature. Any one have my needed parts list available to this addition, or should I hit the net? Someone will ask why add it? 450hp crate engine on the way and I live in Georgia and tow with it in the mountains.
