I have a leak under/in the oil fill tube where it inserts into the valve cover.

GM part is 12551357 for around $40.

Can't seem to figure out how to remove it to check for a crack down low or a bad gasket.
Does this even have a gasket/o-ring between tube and valve cover?
Any inputs appreciated.
Thanks

yes on the o-ring. it has probably has just shrunk over time. it happens. iirc get a good grip on it and yank that sob straight.

btw o-ring should be included in tube kit.

try unscrewing first just to be sure.

Sunlit thanks,
Twisting/unscrewing did not work nor did pulling on it.
Any chance its nutted from inside the valve cover?

possible but i don't see a nut in the parts diagram below nor is there a part number for one. regardless you know the ring comes in the tube and is not available separately so you know you have to order it. so i suggest doing so and inspect it when you get it and even post some pics of new, old and job here. sorry i could not do more.

I got it to turn about a quarter turn but no joy in removing it.
Going to order one this week and will figure out how to remove the old one once I have the replacement in hand.

Tbruz have the same question. What did you find out? Does it unscrew maybe with lots of force??
