Can someone please guide me in the right direction to mount an oil pressure gauge and still retain the factory sending unit? pretty pretty please?!?!?! I'm just curious as to what is needed before I go about doing it. I know the location of the sender and everything just not sure how to go about mounting the mechanical sending unit to the block. I'm assuming I'd need a t fitting and such just need help!!!! thanks in advance!!

Simple......you need an oil pressure adapter. Many companies make this adapter specifically for this purpose. Your oil pressure guage kit will come with the correct brass fittings and basic instructions.

Basically.........unscrew your pressure sensor from the engine block. Install the adaptor into the block where the sensor screws in........then screw your sensor onto the adapter, then install the oil guage fittings onto the secondary hole on the adapter.

You can get a tee and use the factory location, or get one of those oil filter sandwich adapter deals. It's a tight fit to get to the factory location with a tee and two sending units sticking out of it. I don't know if it is possible with all the stuff in the way. It's also tight to get a plate adapter onto the oil filter location. Maybe there is another plug you could use in an oil passage or something.

Does the aforementioned adapter work with the sending unit thread and size on our trucks? I'm just curious I may have to get one. I plan on using copper tubing for now and eventually upgrading to 4an stainless braid in the future

If not the adapter, I'd like to just pull the 90° elbow off the block and run a street tee directly from that galley port and put the oem sending unit off the 90 part of the tee and the line off of the straight upward part of the tee. I just would like to know the npt size to get for the tee. it would need to be unknown measurement male (downward) unknown measurement female as the horizontal and 1/4" npt female as the upward facing part.
Would that work?

So I was a little off on my first response, I didn't realize you had a 91-99 year truck (350). Your stock sensor uses 1/4 npt threads. You could use any tee or combination of nipples and adapters you need to get clearance. Depending on what your aftermarket temp and pressure sensor uses for fittings. 1/4 npt is like the most common so you shouldnt have any issues.

Yep figured it out got a 1" nipple and a 3 way female tee...just waiting on gauges before I install if that doesn't work I'll hit autozone and get one maybe longer to get it up a little higher off the block. as far as the coolant temp sensor goes I got one of these...Screenshot_20161121-071820.png
The previous owner never tied the upper hose off and it was hitting the alt...there is a big chunk taken out of the hose so I figured kill 2 birds with one stone and put that into the hose where that chunk is taken out (it holds coolant no leaking but is scary)

Thanks very much for all your inputs everyone...I'll post pictures as I go along doing the install to help others out as there is no write up on it.
