Recently our 2008 Tahoe dual HVAC system needs the heat controls turned way up (80 degrees) ti get hot air from the system.
I am assuming that there is a temperature sensor somewhere in the cabin that might be needing attention or replacement.
If that could be the problem, where is it.
Any other input will be appreciated.

headliner above the 2nd row passenger seat, looks like a little mic grill. they run about $25-30 online, you can access it by pulling the headliner down enough to reach in there and unclip it.

I see that sensor grille at the driver's side headliner, not the back seat.
I got the new sensor in but I will warn that anyone trying that needs to be prepared to lose some skin on the hands.
The is very little slack in the wire so I had to really squeeze in there and the headliner is really resistant to giving work space.
I had to pull the wire out of the headliner grill at the sensor location, get a hand all the way in, sensor in hand, an rotate the sensor so the wire socket faced down out of the headliner to get the wires in using needle nose pliers to guide them into the sensor socket.
It's worse than trying to get a sparkplug in working in a blind spot.

if there is not another one above the rear passenger or all the way in the back drivers side then you only have the one sensor.
so, then that would imply that either the blend door actuator is maybe going goofy or maybe the control panel, any other "sensors" just show the temp they do not command anything as far as I am aware.
do you have a tech2?

No tech2.
Swapped the sensor s I'll see what happens. The original one had quite a bit of fibers in the fan so maybe that was the issue. It was not making any audible noise.
Funny, but not, that the oem replacement in a sealed GM bag had "made in China" imprinted on it.
On closer look, the original oem also notes "China Made". Disappointing.
