Just started my 2019 Tahoe for the first time after multiple days of sub-zero temps. Alarm went off about oil pressure and to turn the engine off. I quickly parked it and checked the dipstick (please note I know sidle about engines, but I did know to wipe it off, reinsert, pull out again.

I have no idea how far up the stick it should be, but this is what I saw. The gauge, however, is all the way to the left.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Welcome to TYF.!

The dipstick in the pic is out of focus; can you post one that shows the wording and the hash marks on the dipstick, along with the oil level? Oil level should be checked on a level surface, with the engine having been off for 10 min or so.

The gauge pic is not related; that's the engine coolant (anti-freeze) temperature gauge.

… I said I know nothing about cars lol. Will do all that in the morning when I am back where the car is.

When you start it up, is the engine quiet (like before this) or does it make some knocking noise?

Seems quiet like before.

I just went and shot the new photos. Prior to the dipstick photo the car had been off since yesterday and it was parked on level ground. Again, pulled it out - wiped it - reinserted - then took picture.

I then started the car (really not sure how I photographed the wrong gauge yesterday... that one I feel like a real idiot for.)

I am befuddled. To my super novice eye, everything looks fine.

Wow. You shouldn’t be touching anything except the radio. Get that to a mechanic!

Welcome to the Forum from NH.

Lots of knowledgeable folks here who freely share their knowledge, experiences, and perspectives. Knowledge is power.

I hope that you will become a participating member in the Forum's discussions.

Pics of the truck, please.

I applaud you for trying to get familiar with the basics of truck components monitoring and maintenance. I suggest that you engage someone (friend, family, etc.) to walk you through the basics of checking oil level, transmission fluid level, power steering fluid level, coolant level, etc., so that you will understand where everything is located and how to check it. It should not take more that 15-30 minutes for you to receive this information, and this knowledge will last you for a lifetime.

Is that transmission dip stick?

Agreed; that's what it looks like to me.

@seanpaune take the suggestion from @Joseph Garcia seriously, and have someone help you with what to check, and when. Your owner's manual likely has a diagram of the location of various engine compartment dipsticks and checkpoints to help you familiarize yourself with all of those.
