oil pressure?

oil pressure

Well got the Yukon back yesterday oil pressure is peggin out to 60lbs on start up and hasn't dropped below 40lbs after warm up and driving no bottom end rattle at start up anymore tech checked with machine shop went with slightly oversized bearing on their reccommendation seems to be doing great think i'll get started on body this weekend thanks again for all the input i really enjoy this forum very informative.

some good guys can slip new main bearings in from the bottom and never pull crank...


Ya and they also don't know what the journals on the crankshaft look like on the top. He would have been better off just buying a reman crank and bearing set, timing chain and oil pump with screen.

Well I've been drag racing, doing mods on engines since I was 15 and I can honestly tell you that by not pulling the crank out and at least having it checked then you are asking for trouble man! If the crank is scarred in any way it will chew up/burn or spin s bearing quick! Be safe and listen for abnormal noises! Use Castrol GTX 10w30! I have put bearings in like that before too, but only because I needed a motor to hold up for maybe a few quick races til I got the money to put a Crank Kit in it! Not trying to rain on what may seem a good thing to you, but ID be cautious with this deal!!!
