This is has been a very controversial topic regarding the LM2 - the good news is it's less of a concern now that GM has updated the service interval to 200K miles (was 150K miles) for the belt which drives the oil pump. I'll say personally I was never bothered by this. As an owner of two Honda J35's, replacing a belt at ~100K miles is just part of the maintenance schedule.

No real surprise…Much ado about nothing, except for chicken littles who have to find something bad to say about everything. Not even close to worrying about it…..

Ha ha. Worrying about a 150k service interval. Any of you old enough to remember cars becoming blowbot spewing rust heaps scrapped long before 100k miles?

I have a feeling that 90% of the original owners won't even have this belt replaced (if they own it past 100k miles) under maintenance schedule, and will be one of those items that are addressed when it actually goes bad.

According to the video posted and other items I've seen, that 200k interval is for the 2023+ models. Has anyone seen something stating that they've revised the recommendation for the 2021/22 models?
