Also, while cleaning the idle air control the plunger would depress but not spring back. Is that normal?. The reason for the work is the idle is right around 500rpm and when turning at an idle the rpm's would drop to about 300rpm

Check the electrical connector section on rock auto. They have a bunch of connectors available, most are by category.
