If they would just come out and say why it is delayed, I can live with that but it just still keeps saying "In Transit".

I just received an item at work that I ordered on December 3rd. It was sent USPS First Class from Missouri to Iowa and it took 5 weeks to get from Earth City, MO to Elk Grove Villiage, IL (because that's the shortest route from Missouri to Iowa) and then another week to get from Elk Grove Village to Davenport, IA. Absolutely unbelievable.Holiday- Gov workers stockpiling so they get OT at 3x rates ! Same thing here for Sat/Sun.deliveries. Latest was 8 days for 25 mile Package. Arrived Sun.
When I buy something on Amazon or wherever and it says that it is being shipped via USPS, I just double the timeline in my head and if the delivery beats that, I just feel relieved it got there at all. I had a part coming from Amazon and was supposed to be delivered on Monday. I am off on Monday. I was working on a friends vehicle all day outside where I live. The part was big enough that could not be put in the mailbox so I knew would have to come to my door. The part never showed and the excuse on USPS site said could not deliver because no one was home. That was a bald face lie. I was there, outside, all day long. My friend and I never left the facility. I confronted my USPS mail person. She said she was not on that route the day before. I told her never ever tell me who was the delivery person that day, Monday, because he/she would start crying because of what I wanted to say to them.
