For those that don't get to see the underside of their vehicles very often, this is a shot/pic of a rust free under carriage on my rig. Being from KC, Mo. and running shops there for years, I was used to rusted problems but it is great here in the PNW when it comes to that. NO RUST!

DANG! I'm from Fremont Nebraska (now live in Arizona). How the he double hockey stick did you manage that????? Looks like a car form down here.

I'm sure you know about this already. A retired mechanic friend of mine told me about this stuff. It's 3M / Bondo undercoating. They don't sell it at the parts store here. He works at ACE and they sell it there. My frame is rust free (Arizona truck), however, I still like it to be tip top shape.

When I pulled my engine I cleaned up the frame as best as humanly possible. I then sealed it with my leftover OMNI Epoxy sealer, let that dry, then went over everything with the 3M Bondo Undercoating spray. I LOVE this undercoating spray. Appears to be same / similar to what factory uses.

I also repainted my front core support. I used Rust oleum rust reformer, then went over that with regular black Rust Oleum to seal it up. Had I had more OMNI sealer I'd have used that to seal up but I ran out and it's SUPER expensive.

Oh another final note on this post haha, I use electrolysis a fair amount to clean up parts too. For instance, I used it to clean up some old brake calipers and stuff. Works awesome.

My Truck is a project truck, poor guy, cannot afford new one haha... Have a bunch of threads on here with people who helped me. Couldn't have done it without all that help :)

Matthew, I bought this truck from a one owner here in Eugene, Oregon. This an Oregon truck and so therefore no rust, like @Sparksalot was bragging about. I love having no rust, obviously. I dealt with heavy rust in KC, Mo and KC, Ks. because of the salt on the roads. Hated it. Hated it. Hated it!

Thinking ahead: Source for purchasing Eaton Gear diff rebuild sets?

I have used Yukon Gear and USA Standard Gear sets before but they are made in India or China. I want USA made, so Eaton it is.
Nothing compares to good ol Made in the USA parts!

I will not be doing the labor side of the gears when I do it. I have done gears 3 times with no come backs but my friend at the shop is a specialist at it. He said he would disown me if I had someone else do the gears on his "future" Tahoe. I am searching now for a source to buy the Eaton gear sets at. I may just turn it all over to my friend and let him do it all.

I have an alignment set up for Monday morning at 9 am for my rig, after all the front end work. I am off that day and am planning a drive to the coast after the alignment to "road test" the work. If you have ever been on Hiway 126, between Eugene and Florence, Oregon, you know of all the tight curves and a few switchbacks. It is a nice drive and great seafood at Florence when you get there. My favorite place to eat is called The Beachcomber. Great food and great waitress leg scenery. I always tip all 3 girls, just for the show.

As can be seen in the pics, especially the axles, the parts look to still have lots of miles left in them. Again, I am offering them for free to any member that wants to drive here and get. The only stipulation is that need to pick up before end of May because I will sell them at C/L if no one takes them. Again, FREE !!!!!!!!
