Hi there!!!

2 days ago the heater valve on my Yukon 2dr 1995 broke, the temp gauge went to the max but only for 5 minutes while I got home. Today I installed the new one but the engine is still overheating, everything feels cool to the touch, just the top hose feels hot. Any advice? thermostat water pump?

Thanks for your help I have no clue what to do next!!!

Best regards

If the top hose feels hot, then the stat is opening, but I would check the oil just to make sure you didnt blow a head gasket. Also make sure you are not getting bubbles in the radiator, if you are then you def blew a head gasket. I would also check the fan clutch and make sure it is working properly, make sure you have the proper water level in the radiator and that you dont have any other leaks. If everything checks out OK then most likely your temp sending unit or sensor could be bad. Hope this helps!

Yup. What he said. Also try going up and down a few hills to work the bubbles out of the cooling system. Fo some reason our engines have about a 3/4 gallon bubble that like to accumulate somewhere. So top off your coolant in your radiator and your reserve tank, and go up/down a hill. That should move the bubble around, if that's the problem.
