Part shows delivered to wrong address

I did finally just get an email from RA. They refunded my cost and the shipping.

I have already ordered the GM part at GM Parts Warehouse. My total cost difference is $7.52 more.

RA really let me down on this one. @Bill 1960, you are right. We get what we pay for. Basically, it all comes down to backing up what you advertise and I am loyal. Give me an "I don't care" attitude and I will walk asap. My money is good. You want it? Back up what you advertise. You don't really care? Then do as you just did to me.


I actually did think someone from RA would have reached out on the forum. No way. No how, though.
I'm surprised you didn't take the offer of the new hose a member offered you a few pages back, just to get your work completed. I feel the same about these vendors who don't give a damn about the customer who keeps them in business.

I'm surprised you didn't take the offer of the new hose a member offered you a few pages back, just to get your work completed. I feel the same about these vendors who don't give a damn about the customer who keeps them in business.
First thing I would've done when tracking a shipment and seeing it was delivered but not to me would be to contact FedEx
@Tonyrodz, The offered hose was the wrong one and as I stated in another post, I delayed the work till I have all the Genuine GM parts here. That in and of itself is a PITA because it then delays other things planned after the work would have been done. I have all the other work to do as well, so that is busy now.

@gooffeyguy, I did call Fed Ex and even talked to my normal Fed Ex delivery guy the next day. They said they would track and try to find the package and I also contacted RA and as you can see, NOT ONE TIME does a vendor/RA contact me thru the web site here.

I used to speak of RA as the way to go. I know that other sites will cost me more but I don't give a crap. They don't care about my money, they don't get my money.

Last night, I went back thru all my RA invoices for my rigs and people I have done side work for. My parts that I have bought thru RA add up to more than $22k in the last 3 years.


I did find out thru all this that just because they are supporting vendors does not mean they will honor what they advertise.

Yeah, worse to be “present” in a social media site and non-responsive than to not participate at all.

Lack of communication and lack of a way to get ahold of a real person when something goes wrong has always been my gripe with Rock Auto.

Sometimes your issue doesn't fit neatly into their list of predefined problem descriptions so it is hard to get satisfaction.

The flip side of the coin is that 90% of the time they do a good job and there is no need to contact anyone.

I believe your example above illustrates this exactly.

You have spent $22k with them and this is the first time you have had a real issue, and in reality it wasn't technically their fault, it was FedEx's fault (which doesn't surprise me).

With all of that being said, it doesn't make it any less frustrating and aggravating.

Whether it was RA fault or Fed Ex fault, RA hires Fed Ex to deliver packages and you would think between 2 businesses that they could get their heads together and go get the part at the delivery address and step up. Apparently I am too small a fish to worry about.

To top it all off, the 2 remaining packages still show a delivery date decision "PENDING". 2nd rate policies get 2nd rate results. This order from RA has been ****** from the word "GO".

But what the hell, they haven't been around that long and are still learning. I can see where a lost package could confuse them.

Let's put it this way, I will have to be in an emergency for me to order from RA anymore or recommend them to anyone any more. All that they had to do was act like they cared if I got the package and all would have been good but ignoring someone is a step too far!

Man, this gets better and better. I finally found the Fed Ex number for their main customer service. I talked to a guy that actually helped me. I still have 2 packages that were supposed to be here on the 18th and the 21st. He set up a case number for the tracking numbers showing packages in Portland and Troutdale since 2-3 days and they are still not giving me updated delivery dates. They are showing "Pending" delivery date info and that has been doing that for 2 days now.

He then looked in to the tracking number for the delivered wrong package. He said that there system shows "No Tracer Ever Assigned" to track down package. I have no idea if he is correct or maybe it shows a FORMER tracer and now none since they refunded my money.

Between RA and Fed Ex this whole thing has been a nightmare.

I have had trouble before with RA and it is an even great PIA when your stuff is being shipped across an international border (USA to Canada). Unfortunately, RA is one of the very few vendors that will ship across the border. They do make it convenient by including the duties and taxes. When the border opens, I'll go back to having stuff shipped to my US parcel depot and bring the stuff across the border myself. ( I can't wait for reasonably priced gasoline. ($1.65/L = about $5/gal))

People that want the gov to support them don't want to work and that domino effect is causing gobs of problems. Thanks Fed Government!
