Passenger Floorboard Leak?

Had the same problem on my '98. Mine was really bad once when it snowed here and as it melted, the water ran back and filled the rear passenger floorboard with about 2 inches of water. I learned to park with the nose of the truck downhill. I thought I had it fixed once after finding a couple missing screws under the wiper cowl. Finally fixed the headache for good by getting rid of the truck.

join the club. I have the same issue and so do thousans of others. Under the cowl on the passenger side there is a cover that is said to need the sealant replaced. I am yet to do it, I have the floor mats with a lip that act like a drip pan and I just dump it out in the morning.

Is the cowl where the windshield wiper motor is located?

Mine just started doing this too. I about pooped my pants when I thought it was the heater core that went. The Haynes manual doesn't make replacing the heater core look like a fun or easy job. But I've only got a couple drops now when it rains.

Can someone do this, and give a How-To in the tech section?

I've watched my father do it a couple times. good luck pulling the entire dashboard out. (everything, nothing left but the mounting support)

No, I mean, can I get a how-to on pulling the cowl and resealing %leaky_thing%. That doesn't require pulling the dashboard, does it? I might just get crazy with some RTV on a stick if that's the case...

me too? anyone? can someone please post how to do the sealer in the cowl?

I know the cowl top "vents" are not hard to pull as i just did this when i was re-painting my wiper arms. IIRC it was 8 phillips head screws and they came right up. I hit them with some black kyrlon fusion and am loving it!!!. As for the cowl tray removal is a different story.

had the same problem after a windshield replacement. They left some screws out of the cowl that they removed to replace the windshield. A couple of those screw holes go directly into passenger compartment and will leak if not sealed. I sealed every screw with sealant, whether it needed it or not. No leak after that.
