if its the body seam thats leaking, you have to pull the hood and fender off to get to it (or thats what the thread on the other forum said).

one of these days when i don't have to work (end ofthe month) i hope to have a chance to pull the cowl and all that crap out and seal every one of the screws. hopefully that stops it.

could also be the windshield leaking as well. pretty sure mines still the original.

if you don't want to F with it, you can drill a small hole in the corner of the floor board for it to drain out. (there were a few on the other site that did it) just make sure you paint the exposed metal to keep it from starting a rust hole.

That's a freakin' shame that you would have to drill as hole in a perfectly good truck for water to drain out. I wonder if they have drill holes in Toyotas. Buy American....yeah right. I love my "HOE", dang it!

No, I mean, can I get a how-to on pulling the cowl and resealing %leaky_thing%. That doesn't require pulling the dashboard, does it? I might just get crazy with some RTV on a stick if that's the case...

if you have good sealant and great hands, try it out.

Leak on floor A/c area, here is the fix

I'm so close to saying the HELL with this *************!!. It's one thing after the next! I love not having a car payment, but this is starting to be B.S.!

The water is coming in though the fresh air hole in the cowl, You can only get to it by removing the dash and A/C case assy. The problem is not from screws, or w/shield etc. But the height of the rim or lip that water goes around before it exit though the drain. you can remove the drain on the Firewall and it will not help. The only fix is cut 4 weather strips from a piece a car trunk weather strip or like the one at the rear of the hood and make the lip taller. Then silicone the corners. This keeps the water out and fresh air still does it thing. Gm has had the problem for years. Yes that dash and A/c parts have to come out. Once removed, you can see the square fresh air hole that the A/C mounts to and the lip I am talking about. Cut the strips and follow what I said above. It will fix it, but a lot of work...

Started having the same problem recently; water soaking the passenger side carpet, not coolant. The leak is coming from the firewall where the hoses to/from the heater core pass through.

Is there a chance this is just the result of a plugged AC drain?

Anyone else find a fix to this problem without removing the entire dash?
