Personalizing my PPV

The 265/60R17 tires have very low tread so I "borrowed" the 20" alloy rims with 275/55R20 Michellins from my silverado to ride around on. Speedo is way off lol and it has a pretty harsh ride as these tires have very little sidewall. I have to decide on what rims I will use; 17 steelies, 17 factory alloy rims (currently winter tires on silverado), or the 18 hybrid alloys. I like the look of the factory 17 steels with chrome center caps with the 265/60R70 but it jars my fillings out. The 17 alloys have LT265/70r17 KO2s with excellent tread remaining and the 18s have LT265/65R18 also equipped with KO2s. (18 alloy from hybrid shown)

I ended up putting 265/65/17 KO2s on thecopcar. They are load range E, but air down very nicely off road. I can deal with washboard roads now.

I only managed to get the fronts done before biting wind forced me back inside. While i might have been able to turn the rotors down and get rid of the cracks I feel better just replacing them. I live in a part of the world where moose like to prance out into traffic and every inch of braking distance counts lol Still a bit of lining left but I changed them while i was there...

I ended up putting 265/65/17 KO2s on thecopcar. They are load range E, but air down very nicely off road. I can deal with washboard roads now.

265/65R17 opens up a large variety of tires versus the 265/60R17 without being a vastly different size. Speedo will be close enough that it shouldnt be an issue either. Good suggestion

The holes around the hat of the rotor... is that a PPV thing or is it standard on the later GMT900s???

I don't think I have seen that before. My '08 Burb isn't like that so I wasn't sure if it was PPV specific or maybe '09+ or what.

Rock Auto lists certain brands of the rotors with holes as being for a Police Tahoe but then other brands without even though they say they are for the PPVs.

So I am still unsure if it is brand specific or PPV specific.

I wonder if any of the other guys with PPVs have these holy rotors... lol

Maybe it is for weight reduction

As far as I can tell the holy hat is PPV only. The part did come up as PPV option when i was ordering them. Dont recall if these were year specific either but I was looking for 2014.

I am fairly certain that it is/was only acdelco rotors that had the hat holes. The rotors I replaced had the holes so I wanted to replace them with the same part which is what led me to the acdelcos
