Here are a few pics of the HDMI install i did for the Pioneer 8500bhs. Ran the HDMI and USB cord underneath the cup holder console and installed an HDMI port that is used for a house. Since the Apple Digital AV converter has only about 6 inches of cord on the Lightning Connector side, I bought a Lighning Cable extender so I only have one cord going from inside my center console to my iPhone 5.

I just installed this head unit as well. Its taking a while to figure out everything when it comes to the amp mode crap but so far its awesome. I did have to buy the same adapter even though all my sound is sent out through the RCAs to aftermarket amps. With all the crap being plugged in the back of the HU it was a pain to get everything to fit.

Gents,

Could someone please help me out. I am installing this into my 2010 Tahoe. I do have factory Bose, Bluetooth, OnStar, XM, Rear Entertainment. I got in my possession:
AVH-X8500BHS
Wiring Harness: axxess GMOS-LAN-012
Dash Kit: Metra double din 95-3305
Parking Break Override: double pulse mini bypass module
Satellite Radio Module: SXV200v1

I realized that GMOS-LAN-012 does not have any support for Rear Entertainment so I will be returning it. I don't see a point of having SXV200v1 since I already have XM Tuner. Anyways, could you guys recommend something to replace GMOS-LAN-012 with but to keep all stock equipment (XM, BT, RES, OnStar)? Thanks in advance.

I bought the axxess ADGM-100 which retained absolutely everything. I believe this kit has three different harnesses included and I wasn't 100% sure which to get so this is the one I bought. But in the end it does have everything you need. Also you don't need the SiriusXM tuner (SXV200v1) if you don't want to. I installed this so the 8500bhs controls the SiriusXM. If you don't then you will retain the oem satellite tuner and it will be controlled and displayed on the DIC and not on the 8500 at all. Also I used the factory satellite antenna and the cable is found behind the glove box.

Hope this all helps.

Also I called Axxess several times to confirm I got the correct harness. There is a lot of misinformation out there on sites. Best bet is to call or email them. They responded very quickly.

Thanks for quick reply. I did see ADGM-100 but didn't want to spend $200 knowing that not all harnesses will be used. Thanks for clearing up about the XM. So in 2010 XM Tuner is still behind the glove box and not the factory HU itself as some claim? It is possible to use sxv200 along with factory xm tuner so I could have both the DIC control and to control it from 8500? Or is it one other other? Are you able to see XM content on you 8500?

Another thing I forgot to mention. When I installed this yesterday (minus what I already discussed) everything worked but I would get this alloying static noise when the volume is turned down. What could it be?

I'm not entirely sure where it is on a 2010. I thought they were all the same. I've got an '08 but installed a 2010 onstar vcim with bluetooth so I could use the onstar mic for phone calls and not have to install the mic that comes with the 8500. The onstar/VCIM is behind the HU itself. I paid $140 for the harness online. I can see if I can find where I bought it. And I don't think you can use both tuners but I could very well be wrong.

Thanks, man. I'll give it a shot and report back. I am starting to think that I have faulty GMOS-LAN-012. I want to see if I could use new GMOS-LAN-012 along with this cable to retain RES http://www.metraonline.com/part/GMRSAV

Think so. That second piece was included with the harness I used.

Need your help, man.
So here's the deal: almost 2 months into figuring everything out. I got rid of GMOS-LAN012 as I have RES and went with ADMGBOX1 and ADGM01 Harness and aside from not very clear instructions from Axxess, where I had to add resistor between Mute and Accessory wire so the unit will actually mute rather than shut off when using OnStart, I now have few other problems I can't resolve:

1. Are you able to retain your factory RES headphones?

2. When I backup, instead of constant tone once I am very close to an object, the unit goes completely quite. So beep-beep to beep-beep-beep to nothing. Metra is clueless and suggested to re-flash ADGMBOX1. I don't want to spend $50 on USB-CAB cable and about to build it from regular TTL cable. FML!

3. This is more of Pioneer headunit question I would think. I can't get the rear camera to turn on when I drive forward. Sometimes it goes on for few secs and then goes off. Camera polarity settings does make it work the other way around (On when drive forward, off when reverse) but it's not the fix. Did you find a solution to this?

4. I wanted to retain factory USB plug under the armrest and bought Axxess USB-to-Mini USB adapter to retain it, but it doesn't work. The circuit is good (checked with multimeter) but Pioneer does not see an iPhone/iPod when plugged into USB under armrest and USB-Mini USB adapter installed. No issues if I connect iPhone/iPod directly into the unit. Any suggestions?

5. Lastly, Running a mic for Pioneer is a hassle so I wanted to see if I could just tap into factory mic harness. What do you think?

Thanks in advance.
